Dear clients and colleagues:
We recognize that the continuously evolving COVID-19 situation presents a challenging, uncertain and stressful time for everyone. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you, during this difficult time. We want you to know we intend to continue to provide service to our clients to the best of our ability as the situation continues to unfold. We will continue to monitor and respond to the ever changing landscape on a daily basis, and keep clients advised as to how it will impact their cases. In doing so, we will continue to take the health and well being of our employees, clients and visitors seriously. In light of the concerns and uncertainty that the COVID-19 crisis brings, and in accordance with Governor Wolf's statewide mandate, we will not be meeting with clients at the office until further notice. PJ and I will be working remotely at home to respond to client concerns and to keep client matters moving. I am willing to have telephone and/or video conferences and consultations with clients, and to conduct video conferences with opposing parties and counsel during this time. So far, the response to video conferencing has been excellent, and clients have found this to be a satisfactory alternative to in-person meetings. We trust you will have a similar experience. To participate in a video conference or consultation with me, simply download the free Blue Jeans App on your computer and/or mobile device (you can do so using the Google Play Store), and email my office with a request to schedule a video conference. Upon receipt of your request, either PJ or I will contact you to discuss scheduling and provide further information.
The Westmoreland County Courthouse is closed due to the declaration of a judicial emergency by our President Judge, and due to an order of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Family court will only be open for PFA's, injunctions where irreparable financial harm will occur, or mental health proceedings. We anticipate that the court may reopen after April 3, 2020. If you have a hearing or conference scheduled to occur on or before, April 3, 2020, you can presume it is being rescheduled. Filing deadlines have been extended by the PA Supreme Court to April 6, 2020, for any matters that have filing deadlines prior to that date.
We value your business, and you can rest assured that we will remain here for you, albeit remotely. Thank you for your understanding, support and patience as we navigate this challenging and unprecedented situation as it develops. If you need to reach us, email me at email@example.com, or leave a message on the office number, 724-832-9440. We will be checking messages regularly and responding as soon as possible.
All our best wishes to you and your family for a safe transition through this difficult period.
